Season Opener

Season Opener

The Lady Flames participated in the University of Antelope Valley's Season Opening Tournament from 10/25-26/2019.  Friday against Antelope Valley, the Lady Flames were outnumbered and outgunned as the Flames lost a tough season opener to UAV 38-108. Saturday's game against La Sierra was a pretty close game for three quarters. The Flames had some injuries prior to that game and two players are waiting for the green light to begin their season. However, the Flames would not give up and continued to play their best the entire game. The Women's Basketball Team started strong against La Sierra as there were 10 lead changes throughout the game. Being that this is a new team, the chemistry and teamwork of the Flames are still a work in progress. Coach John Hill believes that his team will be able to find ways to win together throughout the season. Lauryn Dodd had 11 points and 13 rebounds, and is averaging 10 rebounds a game after only two games in the season. Tenika Stephenson had 10 points; followed by Kristina Brown who had nine points.

The Lady Flames take on Hope International on 11/02/2019 at 7 pm in Fullerton, Ca.
