Coach Jose Quezada Named Inaugural Head Coach; Brings Deep Coaching Experience and Winning Culture to Anaheim-Based Program
Anaheim, CA June 30, 2025 Bethesda University is proud to announce the launch of its inaugural women's softball program, with the team set to take the field for the first time in the 2025?2026 athletic season. This exciting expansion marks a significant milestone for the university as it continues to grow and invest in women's collegiate athletics.
At the helm of this new chapter is Head Coach Jose Quezada, a respected leader in Southern California softball circles. Coach Quezada brings over a decade of collegiate coaching experience and leads a staff with more than 50 combined years of success across high school and college programs. His proven track record of program development and athlete mentorship made him a clear choice to build the foundation for Bethesda's newest team.
Most recently, Coach Quezada played a key role in the remarkable turnaround at Compton College, where he spent two seasons helping revitalize their softball program. After a winless 0-24 season in 2022-2023, Quezada helped recruit and coach a 2023-2024 squad that posted over 20 wins and reached the California State Playoffs, a historic first for the school.
"We're not just building a team, we're building a program that can compete, grow, and make a lasting impact for young women athletes," said Coach Quezada. "Bethesda is giving us a unique opportunity to do this the right way, from day one".
The new team will compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), and preparations are already underway for the first season. Interested student-athletes are encouraged to begin the admissions process and reach out to the university about softball opportunities.
Adding women's softball to our athletics department is a proud step forward for Bethesda,? said university officials. "We're confident in the leadership of Coach Quezada and excited about the positive momentum this will bring to campus life, our athletics program, and our student community".
