Hard Fought Season Opener
The flames took on Master's this past weekend for their first live action. The first game of the double header, was purely to shake the rust and get rid of the early season jitters. Even though the flames took a loss, Robert Novela pitched one and a third perfect inning in the first game.
In the second game the Flames gave glimpses of a very solid squad the season. They kept in even the majority of the game and even through a 9-6 loss there was a plethora of notable performances. Erick Rodriguez went 3 for 4 with his only out being a sharp line out to centerfield. Miguel Santos went 3 for 5 at the plate and was apart of all three double plays made defensively. Jeremiah Duran allowed only 2 runs in 4 and one third innings.
In the third and final game did not go as planned but we were still blessed with some notable performances. Robert Alvarez went 2 for 2 with the only RBI of the game. As well as Miguel Santos finished 4 for 9 on the weekend with a run scored.
The Flames take on Westcliff next on Saturday February 4th.
