Flames Fall Short in Offensive Battle

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Flames fell on the losing side of a slugfest on Sunday April 23 in a loss to St. Katherines 17-12.

St. Katherines belted eight long balls on the day and scored nine runs in the final four frames to secure the win.

Adrian Flores was brilliant once again for the Flames. After going 5-5 on Saturday and hitting for the cycle, the senior followed it up with a 5-6 day with a grand slam home run and six runs batted in.

Kevin Maxey also homered for the Flames, his 11th on the year and finished 3-6. Other offensive leaders Sunday were Nathan Munoz (2-6 one run scored), Daniel Arellano (3-5 one run batted in), Alex Rodriguez (2-4 one double, two runs scored, on run batted in), and Mario Gonzalez (2-3 one double, two runs scored, and one run batted in).

The Flames fell down early 7-1. They fought their way back to take the lead in the fifth inning 10-8 highlighted by Flores' grand slam.

The Flames are now 22-18 on the year and take on Hope International next.
