Flames Squander Early Lead. Fall to Westmont

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Bethesda Flames blew an early 4-0 lead and went on to lose 7-4 Tuesday at Westmont.

Adrian Flores got the Flames on the board in the top of the second with a leadoff home run to right-center. It was the senior's seventh home run on the year.

In the top of the third, Kevin Maxey hit an absolute bomb over the fence in left. The three-run home run was his team leading eighth on the year and put the Flames up 3-0.

Unfortunately, those were the last runs scored on the day by the Flames and Westmont rattled off seven strait unanswered runs.

The Flames equaled Westmont in hits, totaling nine, but left six men on base in the contest.

Nathan Munoz (2-5, one run scored), Adrian Flores (2-4, one home run, one RBI), and Mario Gonzalez (2-4) had multiple hits for the Flames.

Bethesda is now 18-13 on the year and travel to Phoenix, Az for a three game series with Arizona Christian.

The Flames will play one game Friday, April 7, at 3:00 pm, and a double header Saturday starting at 11:00 am. All games have live video broadcast - https://portal.stretchinternet.com/acu/
