Offense Explodes in Sweep Over WJU

CORONA, Calif. - The Flames bats were hot this past weekend scoring 46 runs in a three game sweep of GSAC member William Jessup. 

 

As a team, the Flames went 54-113 (.478) and blasted 9 home runs. 

 

Standout performances from the weekend were: Adrian Flores (6-15, three home runs, six runs batted in), Daniel Arellano (11-19, one home run, two doubles, seven runs batted in), Kevin Maxey (7-14, one home run, two doubles, seven runs scored, two runs batted in), Daniel Gutierrez (3-8, one home run, two doubles, four runs batted in), Mario Gonzalez (6-10, one home run, three runs batted in), Ivan Galindo (8-13, one home run, one triple, one double, six runs batted in), and Benjamin Lopez (4-8, one home run, one double, eight runs batted in). 

 

On the mound, Benjamin Lopez also had his best performance of the season in game 2. The junior from Guadalajara threw six innings, gave up one earned run, five hits and had one strikeout. Si Mai Kelu moved to 3-1 on the year (five innings, two earned runs, five hits, one walk, and five strikeouts), and Ryan Olley got his second win on the year going six innings and giving up five runs. Ryan only gave up one run over his final five innings. 

 

The Flames are 18-12 on the year and will take on Westmont next.
