Bethesda Defeats #10 Westmont

Santa Barbara, California. - The Bethesda Flames traveled up the Pacific Coast Highway to take on the #10 team in NAIA Division I baseball rankings.  The Westmont Warriors were ready for a three game series against the NCCAA Top Five Bethesda Flames.

 

The Flames dropped the first and last game of the series, but were able to steal a 4-2 victory on the road.  The Flames came out on fire and scored four runs in the top of the first inning.  The four runs in the top of the first would be enough to out last the Warriors in the nine inning competition.

 

The Flames would score four runs on seven hits.  Armando Valencia would lead Bethesda with three hits. Logan Maxwell pitched 4.1 innings for the Flames.  He gave up two hits and one run.  Daniel Arellano would come in to relieve Logan Maxwell, he would pitch 3.2 innings and gave up one run and two hits.  Arellano sturck out three batters on the way to victory.

The Flames will travel to Costa Mesa this Friday to take on Vanguard University.  Start time for the game is 3:00pm.  The two teams will play again on Saturday, the first game starts at noon and the second game starts at 2:00pm.
