Women's Soccer Show Promise vs Providence

Pasadena. CA; The Lion Angels show promise despite loss to fellow NCCAA member Providence Christian. Bethesda held a 1-0 lead over The Lady Sea Beggars as they managed to break through their defenses with a late goal, securing the advantage going into halftime. The initial period of the match witnessed intense gameplay, featuring a total of 17 shots, eight impressive saves by the goalkeeper, four corner kicks, and six fouls.

However, as fatigue set in, Providence scored a pair of goals in the 47th and 75th minute marks of the match. Throughout the game, both teams had numerous chances to score and took multiple shots on goal. Bethesda made a total of 15 attempts, with 10 of them being on target, while Providence had a combined 14 shots, with 10 of them on target.

Overall, the Lion Angels showed tremendous promise. Bethesda's goal was courtesy of Nyla Tardy, assisted by Estela Sanchez. Levi Andrade led the Lion Angels with 6 goal attempts while goalie Melissa Lopez caught 3 saves.

The next matchup for the Lion Angels will be against Whittier College on September 1st.
