Medina moving on to Pursue Opportunities

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Women's basketball head coach, Patty Medina, is moving on from Bethesda University to lead the program at Westcliff University.

In Medina's two seasons at Bethesda, she was named back-to-back NCCAA West Region Coach of the Year as her team played one of the toughest schedules in the nation for our level. During her time at BU, Patty's student athletes had one of the highest overall team GPAs.

"When Patty was hired, we knew that she wanted to eventually coach in the NAIA or NCAA, so it is no surprise that another institution has invited Patty to join their staff. I'm grateful to Patty for the work she has done over the last two years, especially for emphasizing academics in her program. We wish her all the best in this new chapter of her career." Athletic Director Leo Balayon said.

"Working at Bethesda has been such a learning experience," Coach Medina said. "I am extremely thankful to have coached here, and I'm grateful to Leo Balayon for giving me the opportunity to coach in his athletic program. I have enjoyed my time here and I am looking forward to the next chapter that God has in store for me."

The search for a new head women's basketball coach is currently under way.
