Flames Conclude the 2017-18 Season

San Dimas, Calif. - The Bethesda Flames concluded their season ranked number 22 in the nation in the NCCAA power rankings. For the third straight year, the Flames secured second place in the Pacific Christian Athletic Conference regular season standings. With a victory against New Hope Christian College, they also won third place in the conference tournament. Senior Khalifani Williams received All-Conference First Team, while fellow senior Gabriel Adersteg was named to the second team. The Flames faced a lot of adversity this season as among other things, head coach Leo Balayon and incoming senior Rayford Rigby lost parent/s to cancer. "This was the toughest season for me and Ray. We had no choice but to go through it and do the best we could. Ray ended up becoming our true lead guard during conference play so I am very proud of his emergence as a key piece. We are looking to rebuild from this season as we begin a new chapter in our program's young history" said coach Balayon. "I am extremely proud of the players who stuck with us despite all the struggles we had this season. They demonstrated tenacity and passion for the game we all love when it would have been easier to just quit and give up. The character they showed through our trying times definitely makes them true winners in my book" added Balayon.
