Flames Battle, Drop Close Game

Lancaster, CA. - The Bethesda Flames travelled to Lancaster, California to take on West Coast Baptist for the second time this season.  The Flames dropped the first game of the series by a score of 98-82.

Bethesda and West Coast Baptist did not disappoint the fans on Saturday night.  The two teams combined for a total of 181 points.  Both teams shot 50% or better from the field and both teams shot north of 40% from behind the arc.  West Coast Baptist went to the charity stripe a total of 44 times.  Between both teams, there was a total of 70 freethrow shots.  The Flames registered 28 fouls for the game.

West Coast Baptist was able to outlast the Flames by a score of 92-89.  This marks the third straight loss for the Flames.  The Flames are now 3-3 in the PCAC Conference.

Mark Ware led the Flames with 24 points and 4 rebounds, followed by Rufus Jemison Jr. with 24 points and 2 rebounds.  Jamelle Holieway Jr. and Jorge Castro each had 11 points.  The Flames will be back in action on Friday, February 12th at 6:00pm.
